La Quebrada
La Quebrada is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Acapulco, Mexico. Divers entertain tourists by jumping off of two ledges on the cliff, one that is 40 feet (12 m) high and the top one which is 80 feet (24 m) high. The divers must calculate the right moment to jump to catch an incoming wave and avoid serious injury or death. Occasionally jumpers dive with a torch. Most of the divers come from the family of Quebrada divers. Although cliff diving at La Quebrada had taken place for many years, it was not until 1934 that the La Quebrada Cliff Divers was formed.
San Diego Fortress and Historical Museum
Fort San Diego is a star fort in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico. It was built by the Spanish Empire, and it was one of the most important Spanish fortifications along the Pacific coast. The fort was first built in the 17th century, but was completely rebuilt in the 18th century. Today, it is an important landmark in Acapulco, and it is open to the public as the Acapulco Historic Museum
Caleta Beach
The beaches of Caleta and Caletilla are two of the best known and visited beaches of Acapulco, Guerrero, in southern Mexico. They are located in the first section that forms the Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman, in the tourist zone denominated like Traditional Acapulco. The beaches are separated by an access to an islet, which, together with Isla de la Roqueta, protects them from the high waves of the Pacific Ocean, making them ideal for children and the elderly.
La Roqueta
La Roqueta is a Mexican island located in front of the bay of Acapulco, Guerrero, very close to the beaches of Caleta and Caletilla of that city. It is managed and protected by the Secretary of the Navy. At the top of the small mountain of the center of the island, there is a lighthouse that can be visited.
